WELLNESS PROGRAMS  

NEW! Jennifer Frank's Ballet and Creative Movement Classes 
Jennifer offers two classes:
1.
Ballet- This class allows the participant to learn basic ballet movements as well as express themselves physically. The French vocabulary terms will add another dimension to this class. Familiar music from famous Ballets and Symphonies will be used in order to create a comfortable enviornment in which to move. Participants can be standing or sitting as Jennifer can adjust the program accordingly.
2.
Creative Movement- This class will engage even the shyest participant. A wide range of musical styles will dictate each class. Some examples are Latin, African, Irish, 50s, Disco and Country. A basic warm up will be followed by a dance we will all learn together. Participants can be standing or sitting as Jennifer can adjust the program accordingly.
About the instructor- Jennifer Frank is on staff at the Cincinnati Ballet. She is a professional dancer and teacher. Her passion is to help people of all ages become confident, creative movers while having fun and staying healthy.
 

NEW! Make No Bones About It- An interactive and educational Osteoporosis exercise program-- TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE.
This Osteoporosis program will get you up and moving. Not only will you learn about Osteoporosis, you'll learn how to reverse the damage that it creates. This disease is easily prevented or reversed through proper nutrition and exercise. Make sure you are dressed appropriately for exercise. You'll be up moving and practicing some of the exercises that will strengthen your bones.
About the instructor- Donnie Kalb has 10 years of training, speaking and fitness counseling experience. He has a B.S. in Health Promotion and Exercise: Exercise Science from the University of Cincinnati. He is s a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and as a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. With his fitness experience as well as his experience in working with the senior population, you will find his program fun, interactive and beneficial to your seniors.

NEW!! Jerry and Kathy Helt- Dance caller and instructor
Jerry and Kathy offer two dance classes
1. Line Dancing-Learn line, solo and pattern dancing. Any number can participate, but must be mobile.
2. Square Dancing-Learn square dancing in minutes! It's easy and fun. Participants must be mobile. A minimum of at least four couples or eight individuals is required.
Equipment needed for the above classes- a large table and an electrical outlet. Jerry and Kathy will furnish all sound equipment and recordings for the event.
About the instructors-Jerry and Kathy Helt have been dancing since the 1940s. Jerry is a professional square dance caller and teaches easy line dances. They have traveled throughout the United States and many foreign countries teaching the fun of square dancing. They are fully licensed by A.S.C.A.P. and B.M.I.

NEW! Belly Dancing Class
Bellydance for Vitality is a gentle yet invigorating class for all, male and female alike, and can be attempted by anyone regardless of whether they are in a wheelchair or have a full range of movement. Any who attend the class are encouraged to participate in the gentle stretching and strengthening movements. The class includes a warm up, introduction to basic bellydance movements and cool down interspersed with three dances. The first will be performed by the teacher as an introduction to the style of dancing and the second and third will be with the seniors to incorporate the movements they learn. This class can accommodate as many students as there is room for.
About the instructor-
Angela Stanbery has been bellydancing for three years. She has performed at numerous local restaurant venues, choreographed and danced at the Great Midwest Haffla, and is best remembered for her daring performance on the roof of a moving vehicle in the Northside Fourth of July Parade in 2007. In addition to teaching seniors, she is currently teaching a pre and post natal class at the Cincinnati Family Enrichment Center in Northside. She is currently a part of the performing/teaching group, the Amma Apsaras, which is Sanskrit for "Heavenly Dancing Mothers". Angela loves to share her delight in this ancient creative art form.
